Event Details
PEERS® for Adolescents is an evidence-based social skills intervention for motivated teens and adolescents who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection. Teens are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations, and practice these skills during group socialization activities. Lessons build upon each other over the course of the program.
• Where: Bridgeview Elementary School – 12834 115 A Avenue, Surrey
• When: every Tuesday from 6-8pm starting April 2nd (15-week program)
• Cost: $3,000 for the entire program including both teens and parents – registration required; Direct billing to AFU
• Age: 10-19 years of age
Parent participation is mandatory.
Teens will learn about:
– Being a good sport
– Handling disagreements
– Organizing get-togethers
– Using humor appropriately
– Developing and maintaining friendships
– Conversational skills
– Entering & exiting conversations
– Electronic communication
– Changing a bad reputation
– Handling teasing and bullying
