ABA LEARNING CENTRE’S
LIFE SKILLS SUMMER CAMP 2024
We are happy to offer a centre-based summer camp for autistic youth to engage in opportunities to practice essential life skills. The camp will be run by a behaviour consultant and all other camp leaders have extensive professional experience working within the field of ABA. Camp participants will come to our centre in Richmond and participate in several indoor and outdoor games, crafts, cooking, cleaning, and more. In addition, the last day of each camp week will include an outing using public transportation which the students will learn to prepare for.
Skills Targeted:
• Communication: Making requests and following steps.
• Group participation and planning.
• Fine and gross motor skills.
Required Prerequisites:
• Able to communicate their basic needs (can be through speaking, using AAC, PECS, etc.).
• Can use the toilet independently.
• No significant behaviours of concern (e.g., eloping, physical aggression) due to safety priorities.
CAMP HOURS:
10 am to 2 pm
Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from July 9th to August 15th
2:1 Student to Staff Ratio
Ages: 8 to 18
Weekly Cost: $420 per week
