Advocacy, resources, and programs

Inclusion NS supports people with intellectual disabilities and their families throughout Nova Scotia. In addition to advocating on behalf of disabled people to government and community organizations and creating information resources, Inclusions NS offers a variety of support programs. These are the Life Transitions Program for people finishing high school; Family Leadership, which builds support networks between families; employment services; the Planning Alternate Tomorrows with Hope Program for future planning; individual and family support; and healthy sexuality and consent training.

Mandate: "Inclusion NS is a province-wide, not-for-profit association of people with intellectual disabilities, families, and others leading the way to build a just and inclusive society. We do this by empowering and supporting individuals and families, promoting rights and values in keeping with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD), and encouraging reform and collaborating with other organizations for social justice."
