BC Housing
BC Housing Subsidized Social Housing
The BC Housing website provides information about housing programs available to individuals with disabilities. The website covers topics such as home adaptations for independence, subsidized housing, seniors’ supportive housing, supportive housing registration service, and assisted living.
The role of BC Housing is to “assist British Columbians in greatest need of affordable housing by providing options along the housing continuum. We work in partnership with the private and non-profit sectors, provincial health authorities and ministries, other levels of government and community groups to develop a range of housing options. Through responsibilities under the Homeowner Protection Act, BC Housing also plays an important role for buyers of new homes by licensing residential builders, administering owner builder authorizations, overseeing the third-party home warranty insurance system and carrying out research and education to improve the quality of construction of new homes.” [Website]
