“Allan Slade joined the VCM faculty in 2002 after 6 years of practicing music therapy on the Sunshine Coast. He received his Bachelor of Music Therapy Degree and a Diploma in Commercial Music from Capilano University. He has worked extensively with adults, youth and children with developmental disabilities, brain injuries and mental illness. With a passion for innovative technology, he uses Soundbeam and other adaptive electronic musical equipment to help his clients reach their full potential. He also works with the elderly in Complex Care and Independent Living facilities in the Victoria area. He is a past board member for the Music Therapy Association of British Columbia and the recipient of the Canadian Association for Music Therapy Peer Recognition Award.” [Website]
