Son-Rise Program (Options)

This article briefly discusses and evaluates the Son-Rise Program, which has as a central principle the idea that parents must display an attitude of “total acceptance” of their child (including all of their behaviors). There are no scientific studies supporting Son-Rise for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

The Association for Science in Autism Treatment (ASAT) is a not-for-profit organization of parents and professionals committed to improving the education, treatment, and care of people with autism. Their website states that the organization’s goal is to “work toward adopting higher standards of accountability for the care, education and treatment of all individuals with autism.”
