This is a fully-inclusive and accessible outdoor social-recreation group for children with disabilities. Based upon current reserach and practices that demonstrate the benefits for nature-based activities and risky play, this is a chance for your child to explore, learn, and build their resilience! Supported by Behaviour Consultants, Behaviour Interventionists and Youth Mentors (self-representatives), all children are welcome and supported to build their social connections, enhance their emotional development, learning new skills, and have fun. Support is provided with a relational and developmental approach, built upon the group motto, “No Adventurer left behind”! We have been running after-school groups successfully for almost 4 years and are now offering our first summer program!
This group will run Tuesday and Thursdays in July, beginning July 8th from 10-Noon, at various parks/trails in Maple Ridge. A list of locations will be provided upon registration.
