Harbour Family Counselling

Counselling

Harbour Family Counselling is a full-service counselling practice based in Victoria, BC, offering compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming support for individuals, children, and families.

We understand that autism is not a single experience but a spectrum of unique perspectives, strengths, and challenges. Our counsellors provide calm, empathetic care for autistic adults, parents, and families, helping clients build understanding, connection, and confidence.

Our Parent and Child Programs are designed to strengthen relationships and promote growth within the family. These sessions support parents in understanding their child’s communication style, sensory needs, and emotional world, while also helping children build self-awareness and regulation in a gentle, engaging way. Through collaborative parent–child counselling, we focus on creating shared tools for connection, easing stress at home, and fostering mutual trust and confidence.

We employ the following evidence-informed approaches in our practice:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Family Systems and Child & Youth Counselling
Play and Art-Based Approaches
Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice
Parent Coaching and Family Counselling

Our counsellors are experienced in supporting autistic individuals, parents, and siblings through life transitions, emotional regulation, communication, and family dynamics. We offer both individual and family sessions, tailored to each client’s goals and comfort level.

Harbour Family Counselling is also pleased to offer direct billing through British Columbia’s Autism Funding Unit (AFU) for eligible clients.
