So Social

Social Skills Programs

So Social is a premier, neurodiversity-affirming centre that stands out as a place where clients love to be. Staffed by some of Canada’s top specialists, we offer social groups in small, well-matched groups so that every individual receives the support they need to build confidence, foster connections, and inspire growth. Our proven approach has made us a trusted program on the North Shore for over 15 years!

Summer Social is a full-day therapeutic program offered by So Social designed to help children ages 5–13 learn, connect with peers, and have fun. We combine high-quality therapy with practical, engaging activities so kids can build skills and then practice them in meaningful ways with new friends. We also take children into the community to create even more opportunities for real-world practice, connection, and confidence-building. Our program offers small, well-matched groups, with lessons and activities adapted to each child’s individual goals and needs. Sessions are neurodiversity-affirming and child-led, with a focus on supporting authentic growth, connection, and participation.

Mandate: Fundamentally, we believe they every kid should love who they are and deserves to feel awesome. We believe that every kid wants to feel good about themselves. We believe that making people feel good leads to others making us feel good, and that that feels good!! (And yes, this is a whopping generalization but we aren’t getting into details here!) We believe that if a kid could do well, they would!!! Sometimes it’s just not easy and you want a little help. We believe that the world is a better place because it is diverse. We believe that neurodivergent individuals are equal, awesome, and capable. We believe that kids and adults should get to choose to come to groups and that they should choose the goals they work on as soon as they are able to. We believe in communication and transparency. We believe that parents, caregivers, family members, and educators are key to lifting up and supporting their kids (and their kids’ choices) and that we can help facilitate this with team work, transparency, and celebrating the wins. We believe that kids, and their parents if needed, should choose when to start and when to stop, groups. We believe that providing a safe, welcoming, neuro diversity affirming, everyone is awesome non-judgmental clinic is part of what makes us different and is why we got into this field in the first place. Our intentions are to listen, to help, to adapt, and to provide individualized care to those who we can deliver services to. We believe in science and evidenced-based practice. We strive to stay on top of the research and best methods and we change and adapt as needed.
