Intellectual Disabilities Society

Day Programs, IDS Services, and Supported Care

Intellectual Disabilities Society is devoted to providing support and recreation to children, youth, adults, and seniors with intellectual disabilities in the North Vancouver area. They offer programs out of their head office, The Summit recreation facility, and at homes and businesses in the community. Services are divided into Day Programs, IDS Services at The Summit, and Supported Care. Most services require referral by Community Living BC or the Ministry of Children and Family Development, but educational, recreational, and social activities at The Summit are open to all registered members.

Day Programs include IDS Options (skill development), Pathfinders (social skills), Venture Enterprises (business skills), Life Skills, Employment Skills, and Muffin Café (food service skills)

IDS Services include a variety of programs and activities in the areas of art, music and dance; cooking and baking; literacy; professional growth programs; social and life skills; sports and fitness; supported volunteer work; and youth programs. They also have a bookable Snoezlen Room.
