Power for All Society/Charity
Nature and Community based Occupational Therapy Services
Power For All is a charity that serves clients in the Fraser Valley, BC. The vision of Power for All is to provide universal access to nature and community-based activities for all clients from all walks of life, regardless of physical, cognitive, or social abilities or financial resources. We hope that by providing access to more nature- and community-based activities, regular therapies such as Occupational Therapy can expand their reach and use adventure to deliver their services to clients.
The purpose of our society is to relieve conditions associated with disability by providing specially adapted recreational programs to support the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of children, youth, and adults living with disabilities.
We provide adaptive paddling summer day camps, nature-based programming throughout the year that address needs related to the areas of self-regulation, trauma processing, overall development, motor, executive function and social skills. As OTs, we address needs under the areas of self-care, engagement at school and community and finally leisure. All of our programs have a component for parents as well so they can receive education and coaching. The programs are neuro-affirming, trauma sensitive, and child-led.
