Sibling Support Groups (Ages 10-12)

Summary

The goals of the group are to provide an opportunity for the participants to meet other siblings and to share their common experiences. The content of each group is directed by the siblings’ needs and interests. Focus can range from psycho-education about autism or other developmental differences, to exploring the joys and challenges of living with their brothers and sisters, discussing strategies for commonly experienced situations. Most importantly, a space for the siblings in which they can be honored and seen for who they outside of their role as a sibling is provided.
