Kids in the Spotlight Summer Camp

Mandate (from the organization website)

"Our purpose is to provide programs in personal and professional development that embody the principles of responsibility, communication and relationship. The Haven is a place where people of all ages can grow and fulfill their potential, while developing rewarding and respectful relationships with others." [Website]

Summary

"Kids In The Spotlight (KITS) is a unique program for children, youth and parents where families come together for 5 days at The Haven Institute on Gabriola Island. Children learn social development and self-discovery; youth undergo Youth Leadership Training; and parents attend informational sessions. Lessons like boundaries, communication, sibling relationships, parent-child relationships, and self-responsibility, are just some of the few lessons taught. The lessons are subtle -- delivered through the group effort of multi-age children as they cooperate to produce and perform a musical at the end of the 5 day program." [Website]
