ACT Online Videos: Now Free!
ACT has recently made available all our online videos for free on a trial basis. We are currently seeking sponsorship to develop more online training. ACT online videos are professionally filmed and edited, and range in length from 1 to 5 hours. They are divided into sections for easier browsing. Register for free online or call our office. New Job Posting at ACT: Reception/Administrative Assistant
This position plays a pivotal role as the first point of contact for visitors or callers to ACT, addressing their needs and inquiries in a professional, timely fashion. Duties include taking registrations for ACT workshops, directing information calls to the appropriate staff and data entry into ACT’s information systems. If you are organized, have strong technical and communication skills, and are a compassionate individual, preferably with knowledge of autism, we encourage you to send your cover letter and resume to info@actcommunity.ca with “Receptionist” in the subject line by 10am, Monday, July 14th.
Job Posting for Practicum Student
ACT is seeking a current undergraduate or graduate student for a 3-6 month project. This project requires analysing resources for ACT’s Autism Information Database (AID) and writing records for the AID. The successful candidate must have excellent written communication skills, an understanding of autism and an interest in knowledge translation focused on the needs of families and adults with ASD.

Sign up now for Fall ProgramsComplete the CASDA survey before Monday, June 30th to contribute to the development of a National Autism Plan. The Canadian Autism Spectrum Disorders Alliance (CASDA) is seeking input into the realities of caregivers and professionals supporting those with autism from across Canada. The survey only takes 15 minutes. By participating you will be doing your part in informing the Governments of Canada and British Columbia of the needs of families, their children and adults with autism.

New from Simon Fraser University
Simon Fraser University (SFU) Autism and Developmental Disorders Lab (ADDL) is studying the skills young children need to successfully regulate their behaviour in everyday contexts such as home, schools and playgrounds. The study will take place at the SFU Burnaby campus and will take about 2-3 hours (including breaks). Upon completion of the study, the parents will receive $10 per hour of participation in gift cards, as a token of our appreciation.SFU Seeking Children with ASD for Research Study

Free Camp for Children ages 7-12 with ASD
The SFU Autism and Developmental Disorders Lab (ADDL) is hosting their 3rd Annual SFU Social Science Camp on Saturday, August 16 from 9am to 3pm (SFU Burnaby Campus). Special guests from the Vancouver Aquarium will be present! The camp integrates research and other fun computer, craft, and interactive game activities. Spots are limited so sign up today.
