Week Descriptions

Week 1: All things Lego

Counting and Coding and Creating, O My!

This week will be full of Lego building challenges that will promote creative thinking, problem solving, and an introduction to early coding skills.

Week 2: Creepy Crawlers and Critters

I spy with my little eye… something that has 6 legs!

Grab your magnifying glass because this week’s focus will be on Earth Science and the many creatures and critters that our little explorers see around their neighbourhoods. We’ll do some sequencing and sorting with different life cycles and talk about the importance of the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!).

Week 3Build-a-bot

Robots, Robots all have parts. Wheels, and gears, and sometimes hearts!

This week is all about designing and making robots out of various materials. We’ll focus on various projects that encourage brainstorming, designing, and building/testing/evaluating their creations.

Week 4: Big Bang!

Fizzle, Sizzle, Poof!

Let’s put our goggles on and enter the wonderful world of chemical reactions! This week will be full of hands-on Science experiments and DIY projects with a focus on Edible Science. Colour-changing Lemonade? Solar Oven S’mores? Yes, please!
