SUMMARY:PEERS for Teens Spring (In-Person) Class
DESCRIPTION:Helping Teens Build Confidence\, Connection\, and Lasting Frien
dships\nThe PEERS® Program (Program for the Education and Enrichment of R
elational Skills) is a 12-week\, evidence-based social skills training pro
gram designed for middle and high school students. Developed by Dr. Elizab
eth Laugeson at the University of California\, Los Angeles (UCLA)\, PEERS
® has achieved global recognition\, with successful implementation in ove
 r 35 countries.\nWhy PEERS® Works\nExtensive research has demonstrated th
at teens with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)\, ADHD\, anxiety\, depression
\, and other social-emotional challenges make significant improvements in
their social interactions and emotional well-being through the PEERS® Pro
 gram.\nBy combining structured lessons\, role-play demonstrations\, real-l
ife practice\, and parent involvement\, PEERS® provides a supportive envi
ronment where teens can develop the skills and confidence needed to form a
nd maintain meaningful friendships.\nProgram Overview\nOver the course of
 12 weeks\, participants attend 90-minute sessions\, at our North Surrey\,
BC office. Each session offers interactive learning and practical training
focused on real-world social situations.\nTeens learn how to:\n• Initia
te and maintain conversations\n• Choose appropriate friends\n• Handle
 teasing\, bullying\, and rejection\n• Use humour effectively\n• Plan a
nd host social gatherings\n• Resolve conflicts and disagreements\n• Pa
rent Participation\nA vital part of the PEERS® for Teens model is parent
involvement. Parents join the final 20 minutes of each session to review t
heir teen’s progress\, go over weekly homework\, and learn practical str
ategies to support their teen’s social growth at home.\nParents play an
active role by helping their teen practice new skills between sessions—w
hether that means rehearsing phone calls\, planning get-togethers\, or nav
igating common social challenges together.\nEmpowering Families\nUnder the
guidance of a certified PEERS® facilitator\, the program equips both tee
ns and parents with the knowledge\, tools\, and strategies to foster meani
ngful social connections and improve overall confidence in everyday intera
 ctions.\n🔗 Register Here
