The upcoming fall Employment Works cohort will continue to be offered online.
Our online program has continued to be successful throughout the pandemic as we are able to offer the program to participants across the province including rural areas and underserved regions. The online program is also more accessible to those individuals who are not comfortable meeting with an in-person group.
The program has also been able to connect with secondary schools to offer the program to classrooms. This has been very exciting as we have reached out to students in rural areas of the Kootenays and the Okanagan.
Employment Works runs for 12 weeks, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10-12:30. Our Fall start will be September 14th and 15th and run until December 1.
We have also been running a supplementary program called Employment Works Connex. This drop-in Zoom program helps individuals with their resumes, job applications, cover letters, interview prep and we also help individuals continue practicing their social skills through online group games. This drop in program will continue through August on Mondays from 10-2. In September, the program will move to Thursdays, 10-2. As this is a drop in program, participants do NOT have to stay the entire 4 hours. 10-11 is usually job application time, and 11-12 are the online games. The rest of the afternoon is for resumes, cover letters or interview prep.
