NWT Disabilities Council

Programs

The NWT Disabilities Council operates programs that support the self-determination of people with disabilities throughout the territory. They also create informational resources and host events promoting inclusivity.  

Programs include the Accessible Parking Permit Program; community respite services; an annual Disability Awareness Week; the Early Childhood Intervention Program; the Experience Summer recreation program for children; Inclusive Accessible Gardens; information referral and support; the Learning Support for Persons with Disabilities Fund; and the Yellowknife Accessible Transit System.
